About the Role
Position Summary
Seeking a Community Specialist to support our youth education initiatives and community events. This role will be responsible for coordinating prevention programs in schools and community settings, managing partnerships with service providers, and ensuring the success of our outreach efforts. The Program Coordinator will work closely with senior leadership to implement best practices, oversee assigned program effectiveness, and support the execution of large-scale community events, including naloxone training sessions.
Requirements
Primarily weekdays 8am-4pm, (occasional evening and weekend events)
Compensation: $41,000 - $44,000
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the coordination and implementation of youth education programs.
Assist in the execution of community events, including public naloxone training, awareness campaigns, and prevention-focused workshops.
Build and maintain relationships with schools, community partners, and service providers to expand program reach.
Support the Naloxone Program, ensuring effective naloxone distribution and overdose prevention education.
Track program impacts and collects data on participation and engagement.
Ensure compliance with program guidelines and reporting requirements.
Represent Sounds of Sarah at public events, meetings, and community forums.
Create and manage social media content and digital outreach to promote programs and events.
Utilize technology to manage program data, reporting, and online resources.
Work occasional evenings and weekends for scheduled community events.
Qualifications & Skills:
✅ Required:
Bachelor’s degree in social service, psychology, public health, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in social service, addiction services, mental health, public health, or community outreach.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with experience delivering information to diverse audiences.
Strong program management and organizational skills.
Experience coordinating events, community programs, or youth-focused initiatives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Passion for substance use prevention, harm reduction, and public health education.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Comfortable engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Reliable transportation required.
